The community is encouraged to donate new school supplies to help local students begin the school year prepared and confident. Requested items include pencils, crayons, glue sticks, folders, notebooks, markers, colored pencils, highlighters, scissors, binders, loose-leaf paper, hand sanitizer and USB flash drives.

ZION'S TOY DRIVE 2025
Zion Legacy of Love organized a community donation drive to collect unwrapped Christmas gifts for children in need, with drop-off locations available at Cumberland Fire Station on Cumberland Road and Sherwin Williams on Hope Mills Road in Fayetteville. Donations were accepted through December 21, 2025, with the mission of bringing comfort and holiday joy to young patients at UNC Children’s Hospital PICU and students at Bright Young Minds Academy. The initiative reflected a strong community effort to support local children and families during the holiday season through generosity and compassion.

MAYOR'S PROCLAMATION: ZION GIBBS
The City Council gathered to recognize the life and legacy of Zion Gibbs, a loving and energetic 7-year-old whose memory continues to guide the mission of our organization. Zion’s kindness, curiosity, and bright personality touched everyone who knew him, and his absence remains deeply felt throughout the community.
In a meaningful tribute to his life, the City Council proclaimed June 7, 2025 as Zion’s Day. This designation reflects the lasting imprint Zion left on Fayetteville and symbolizes the unity, love, and hope that his story continues to inspire. As an organization created in his honor, we remain committed to carrying forward his light by supporting families, strengthening community bonds, and working toward a safer future for all children.

Community Block Party
June 7, 2025
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Zion’s Day on June 15, 2025, at Festival Park in Fayetteville.
This special event honored the life of Zion Gibbs and brought the community together with a message of peace, love, and unity. The day began with a powerful Cruise for Peace, followed by a family-friendly block party full of games, bounce houses, music, and connection.
Hundreds gathered to remember Zion, support his mother Myra Gibbs, and learn more about the mission of Zion Legacy of Love. Nonprofits, first responders, and neighbors all stood together in support of safer streets and stronger hearts.

Zion Legacy of Love
In December 2024, the Zion Legacy of Love Toy Drive brought an overwhelming outpouring of support to Fire Station No. 5 on Cumberland Road. Led by Zion’s mother, Myra Gibbs, and joined by his siblings Zaire and Zariyah, the drive collected hundreds of toys for children at UNC Children’s Hospital and 31 students at Bright Young Minds Academy, where Zion attended school.
